Nick Hall is the visionary of Together, author of the book Reset, and the Founder and President of Pulse. As an evangelistic voice to this generation, Nick Hall has shared the Gospel at hundreds of events to more than five million people and is regularly featured as a speaker for pastors gatherings, student conferences, training events, and festivals around the world.
Ebony Small serves as the Vice President of Global Ministries at Pulse. Impassioned by her strong conviction in Jesus alone, Ebony answered the call of full-time ministry in 2011, and two years later she was ordained as an Associate Pastor at Bethel Gospel Assembly, Inc. in Harlem, New York. Ebony shares the Gospel message of salvation, healing, and deliverance as she ministers to those who God has divinely called her to serve and has recently released her book “The Leader in You: Discovering Your Unexpected Path to Influence.”
Karen started her career holding numerous leadership roles within the higher education and art communities and in 2012 she came on the Pulse team serving as the Director of Leadership Giving. Karen has a passion for sharing the Gospel and introducing others to where God is moving, especially in the next generations. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Jay Johnson, and they have two young adult daughters, and a son-in-law.
Bryant Underwood is a Senior Event and Operations Director at Pulse and has worn
multiple hats within the ministry, from his role as the Director of Together 2020 to serving as a member of the Year of the Bible steering committee. Bryant is currently in his 20th year of vocational ministry previously taking on the role of the Lead Pastor at City Church of Chattanooga for 6 years and running a non-profit with his wife. Bryant currently lives outside of Chattanooga, TN with his wife Marie and their three kids Nora, Archer, and Brixton.
Starting at Pulse in 2012, Jenah has been a part of the Pulse team for nearly a decade. She currently serves as the Event Operations Director, where she gives leadership to the planning and logistics of all Pulse events. Throughout her time at Pulse, Jenah has been a part of countless events, including Together 2016, Together 2018, and Pulse Twin Cities. Her favorite aspect of her role is getting to work behind the scenes at events and seeing the planning process from start to finish. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and traveling.
Jay Anderson serves as the Director of Ministry Expansion for Pulse using his God-
given talents to network across the country with ministries, events, bands, and speakers. He grew up traveling with his family for his father’s work and later “inherited” the family business traveling with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association setting up festivals. Jay lives in Minneapolis, MN with his wife Steph and their three children.
Alex Hunter is the Ministry Partnership Director for Pulse where he leads the Ministry Partnership Team in connecting with churches, organizations, and ministries across the nation. Since 2016, he has faithfully served at Pulse from beginning as an intern, to helping with the grassroots mobilization for Pulse Twin Cities, and to now leading our local and national partnerships efforts. Alex is one of Pulse’s young evangelists who has a passion for reaching the lost and inspiring the next generation to pursue an all-in lifestyle with Jesus. Alex lives in Richfield, MN with his wife Carlee where they spend most of their days hanging out with friends and enjoying their new pool.
Mark Warder is the Training Director at Pulse where he oversees the internship program and is the Director of Revival Nights, Pulse’s monthly prayer and worship gathering in Minneapolis. He has a passion to see young people grow in their faith and follow Jesus and has been a pastor for over 15 years in Bolivia, Panama, and here in the Twin Cities. Mark has been married to his wife Kelli for 18 years and lives in Burnsville, MN with their three kids and golden doodle.
Luis Romero joins the Pulse team as an Art Director after first hearing about the organization years ago in seminary school. Originally hailing from Oakland, California, Luis’ most recent impact was felt in the city of Houston, Texas where he is an inspirational artist working with people who record and release music centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In less than three decades on this earth, his work has included titles like evangelist, street artist, fashion designer, entrepreneur, and video director. In all endeavors, God is glorified.
Amber started at Pulse as a part-time bookkeeper in 2013 and, throughout the years, has shifted into managing the human resource needs at Pulse by overseeing the finances and leading the administration department. Amber graduated from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul with an accounting degree and has spent most of her career in the ministry/nonprofit world, from doing
missions work in Uganda (East Africa) to working with various nonprofit organizations around the Twin Cities. Amber and her husband Matthew live in South Minneapolis where they are raising their three children Sierra, Jazmine, and Asante.
Deena serves as the Donor Relations Director/Special Projects & Employee Engagement Director at Pulse by overseeing a wide variety of events and building relationships with Pulse partners. Before feeling a call to go into ministry, Deena started her career as a buyer for Macy’s, overseeing 52 stores in the Midwest region, and then shifted to small business ownership growing her own business, Deena’s Gourmet—a local MN hummus company. Deena and her husband David have two children, Davin and Jacob, and enjoy nights out anywhere there is good food and live family music entertainment.
Olivia serves as Pulse’s Donor Relations Director and has been on staff at Pulse since 2019 when she started as an intern. Originally from Fargo, ND, she remembers first hearing about Pulse as a young girl when it started on NDSU’s campus. After graduating from Concordia College with degrees in Communication and Theatre she moved to New York City where she was involved with Trinity Harlem Church.
Nick is one of a few Senior-level Event Directors at Pulse using his diverse skill set
and energy to consult and partner with organizations, ministries, and churches to accomplish their missions and serve their needs. A graduate of UT Austin, he began a career in corporate marketplace consulting before following a calling into vocational ministry, this led him to work on staff for The Flippen Group, Young Life, and the Passion Conferences, and spend many years leading the collegiate ministry at Passion City Church under the direction of Louie Giglio. Additionally, he is the founder and Executive Director at The Gathering ATX – a unifying movement of students and campus ministries for unique gatherings of worship, word, and prayer in the heart of UT Austin.
Joe began his Marketing career working for a couple of small Advertising Agencies, as well as corporate retail, then made the transition to the nonprofit world with a move to Colorado and Focus on the Family. Upon moving to Minnesota, Joe worked at General Mills for nearly 20 years in various B2C marketing and marketing communication roles, and most recently at 3M in B2B marketing. In 2021, he started as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul, teaching Marketing and Marketing Communications. He holds an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Joe is married with six children and eight grandchildren and lives in St. Paul, MN.
